hi all,
I have had a station online once but that was basically just to test with a few people and they never said how it was so..to hell with them i guess lol. I want to start one again, but I am wondering what specs would be the best and not too costly. I have a 2.8GHZ intel processor and 512mb of ram in this other machine that is sitting here, would that be sufficient or not even close?
As far as what to have on the station, i am still debating that, and as far as putting up a stream and thinking i'll get miollions of listeners, i know that won't be happening without me advertizing it all over the place and having the same ol garbage on radio, i mean there is only so much as far as different types of music(yeah i know the word but i suck at spelling :p) but i thought i should ask before i assume and use a computer that wouldnt handle a good quality stream.
however, i will add that i am limited to a cable internet connection that will be shared with a VOIP phone service, and another computer
Hi. There are different options availabel. Firstly did you want to run your own server and domain, etc? If so then your cable connection won't be enough to run a lower and higher bandwith stream. Another option is to stream both your lower and higher bitrate station to a server such as StreamMadness. The third option is to go with Live365.com, and automaticly generate your station with files you upload. The forth options is to do a show on an internet only station.
The michenne is plenty fine enough for broadcasting.
well i plan on my own domain and machine.etc, but would i be fine with 1 stream or do i need to have 2 streams?if i decide to go with live365.com, how much is the cost, if there is one?
